As for the preference of the United States for particles and Japan for sintering, it should be based on the requirements of particles and sintering for raw materials:

Granulation requires a fine particle size of raw materials. Particle size - 200 mesh (- 74 μ m) must be ≥ 80%, specific surface area 1500-2000cm ~ 2 / g, or even higher.

However, the particle size required for sintering is relatively coarse. The particle size of - 150 in raw materials is less than 20%, and the particle size of - 150 in raw materials can only be increased to 40-50% by small ball sintering.
